"title": "What is Axis Ordo (AO Platform)?",
"summary": "Axis Ordo, or AO Platform, is an AI-based operating system from Soft Dev Oy. What is in its core and which products run on it.",
"content_text": "In our [first article](/en/blog/soft-dev-ten-years) we described how ten years of custom development led to our own platform. This article is about the platform itself: what it is, how it works and what already runs on it.\n\n## What is Axis Ordo, and why is it called AO Platform?\n\nAxis Ordo is an AI-based operating system from Soft Dev Oy. AO Platform is the short name of the same platform: rather than writing \"Axis Ordo platform\" every time, we shorten it to AO. Axis Ordo and AO Platform are one and the same product, and its website is [axis-ordo.com](https://axis-ordo.com). The platform's motto is \"AI for everyone\": its packages are used by companies, teams and individuals.\n\n## Why is Axis Ordo an operating system and not just a platform?\n\nBecause other products are built on it. The platform's core holds the parts all products share: agents and their orchestration, connections to language models, packages and subscriptions, and CRM and ERP. Each new product takes these parts from the core instead of building them again. A computer's operating system works the same way: the programs change, but they share one foundation. The platform keeps growing and is built with further development and research in mind. The platform is also described on the [Platform](/en/platform) page.\n\n## How do agents work on Axis Ordo?\n\nAn agent on the platform is \"a brain and hands\": it does the work instead of just answering in a chat. The agents are managed by a personal assistant, the AI ONA: a person gives a task to ONA, and ONA distributes the work among the agents. Managing several agents in this way is called orchestration.\n\nLanguage models from several providers are connected to the platform, so a suitable model can be used for each task. Agents have capabilities: working with documents and PDF files, images, video and voice, search, translation, and publishing on social media with the content adapted to each network. Agents are combined into configurations — sets of automations built around the needs of a particular business.\n\nDecisions stay with people. In the platform's business tools, AI prepares an intermediate result, a person checks it, and only what has been approved moves on.\n\n## What are CRM and ERP on Axis Ordo?\n\nCRM and ERP on the platform are not a fixed, off-the-shelf system but a system assembled around each client's needs. The CRM works with the external market: enquiries, customers and the history of communication. For a company's internal control there is a hybrid of CRM and ERP. The main difference from classic systems is that they are connected to AI: the platform's agents do part of the routine work in them.\n\n## Which products already run on Axis Ordo?\n\nAll the products below were developed by Soft Dev and run on the platform. They are the first products of the operating system.\n\n- **AI Visibility** — a tool that measures how AI describes companies and people. The AI Visibility service is run by a separate research startup, QuorumLab ([quorumlab.eu](https://quorumlab.eu/)); in Finland QuorumLab is represented by Soft Dev Oy.\n- **Tempussit Study** ([tempussit.com](https://tempussit.com/)) — an online course platform. The course author answers questions, and the platform builds the course page and the lesson structure itself; an AI assistant answers learners' questions about the course materials.\n- **Parking builder** ([your-parking.fi](https://your-parking.fi/)). The project started as a car registration system for parking spaces and became a builder: a parking system is assembled from it for a specific site.\n- **Website builder** — our own tool for small projects: landing pages and admin panels for websites.\n\n## How does Axis Ordo handle load?\n\nThe platform runs on modern, scalable server infrastructure. It is multi-tenant: many companies and users work on one system, and each company's data is kept separate from the others. When the load grows, the system adds capacity instead of being rebuilt. The platform's servers are in the EU, and client data is not used to train models.\n\n## What is AO Code?\n\nAO Code is a tool for developers on the Axis Ordo platform. A developer runs the command `aocode` in their project folder, and AI works with the code right on their computer: it reads the project, writes and edits code. The code itself stays with the developer. AO Code takes AI models and access management from the platform, so it works together with the other Axis Ordo agents and is enabled as part of a package.\n\nWe are now completing work on AO Code. When the product is ready, we will publish a separate article about it in this blog.\n\n## Where is Axis Ordo heading?\n\n\"AI for everyone\" is also the platform's direction: we are moving towards decentralised AI, where access to intelligence does not depend on a single provider. The second direction is new ways to use the platform: apps for iOS and Android and versions for Mac and Windows. We will write about each of them separately once it works.\n\nIf you need an agent-based system for your business, tell us about your task on the [Contact](/en/contact) page.",
