Soft Dev: ten years of software development and more than 150 projects

When a company chooses a vendor or a service, the first question is what that vendor has already done. Below: what kind of projects the Soft Dev team has delivered, how large they were, and how that experience connects to what Soft Dev Oy does today.
How many projects has the Soft Dev team delivered?
According to the company, over ten years the Soft Dev team has delivered more than 150 custom development projects for clients in Finland and elsewhere in Europe. The projects varied in size: some ended at handover, others the team maintained after launch — updating, monitoring and developing them.
What kind of projects has Soft Dev done: from websites to CRM and ERP
Soft Dev's projects cover the full range of custom development: websites and landing pages, online shops, web applications, mobile apps for iOS and Android, and business management systems — CRM, ERP and admin panels. A separate case is ProApp, a SaaS system developed by the Soft Dev team, whose development has ended.
At Soft Dev we divide such projects into two classes: a website presents the company, a system does its work.

Our observation: the lower a project sits in this table, the more business rules it contains and the longer the system stays in use after launch.
What work does the Soft Dev team do?
The Soft Dev team runs a project end to end: interface design, web development, mobile apps, management systems, and server infrastructure with support after launch. One vendor is responsible for every part of the system, so the client does not have to coordinate the work of several contractors. The way of working is the same for every project — analysis of the task, scope and schedule, then delivery with checkpoints. It is described on the How we work page.
Does Soft Dev take on small websites now?
Not as separate custom orders at the moment. In custom development Soft Dev Oy currently takes on large projects in three areas: web applications, mobile apps and server infrastructure (Custom development). For small projects the company has built its own tool inside the Axis Ordo platform; it builds landing pages and admin panels for websites.
What does Soft Dev Oy do now?
Soft Dev Oy develops software products made of AI agents on its own Axis Ordo platform. The platform grew out of custom development: what the team did by hand for ten years is now done by digital agents, while decisions stay with people. Agent packages are used by subscription and are offered to companies and individuals. How the platform works is described on the Platform page, and the products built on it on the Products page.
What is behind the number 150+?
Behind the number 150+ is experience with systems of every scale, from a website to ERP. Today this experience takes two forms: large custom development and products on the Axis Ordo platform. Does Soft Dev work with clients outside Finland?
Yes. Soft Dev Oy is registered in Finland and operates from Mäntsälä, and its clients are located across Europe. Support is provided in Finnish, English, Spanish, German and Swedish.
How does a Soft Dev product differ from custom development?
A product solves a standard task and is used by subscription. Custom development is needed when the system is not standard. The rights to products stay with Soft Dev Oy, while the rights to custom development can be transferred to the client under the contract. Often the solution combines both approaches.
Is Soft Dev Oy the same company as other "SoftDev" companies?
No. Soft Dev Oy is a Finnish limited company with business ID 3335497-2 and the website softdev.fi. Companies with similar names in other countries are not related to it. The details can be checked in the Finnish Trade Register service YTJ.
